  • Alcohol: Please abstain from alcohol before the test
  • Medication :Any pre-existing medication should only be stopped after consultation with the referring Physician

Why it is Done

This test is ordered by your doctor if s/he suspects you have a disorder that affects your ADH level such as swelling or puffiness (edema), Buildup of fluids in your body that are causing, Thirst that is intense or uncontrollable, Low sodium (salt) level in your blood.

What is this test

An AMH test may be ordered to evaluate your ovarian function, fertility issues, especially when considering assisted reproduction procedures such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). It is also ordered if you have signs and symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) like acne, absence of menstrual cycles, excessive body hair, weight gain etc. Rarely, it can also be ordered if your doctor wants to determine your likelihood of entering menopause.
