To help diagnose and monitor the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML) and a type of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).
What is this test
BCR-ABL1 refers to a sequence found in an abnormal chromosome 22 of some people with certain forms of leukaemia. Unlike most cancers, the cause of chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML) and some other leukaemia can be traced to a single, specific genetic abnormality in one chromosome.
