Instructions/Precautions:

  • Alcohol: Please abstain from alcohol before the test
  • Medication :Any pre-existing medication should only be stopped after consultation with the referring Physician
  • Fluids Allowed : Water only

Soft Copy (Portal/Email) : If the sample is collected before 12 noon then the report will get delivered as per Reporting Time / Maximum TAT (Turn Around Time) indicated with the test. For samples collected after 12 Noon, 12 hours may be added to the Report Turn Around TimeHard Copy : Delivered at home upon request. A small convenience fee may apply.

Why it is Done

  • If you have signs or symptoms of blood clot in an artery or vein like pain or swelling in legs, sudden breathlessness, history of recent surgery.
  • If you have history of frequent abortions or miscarriages.
  • If your doctor is suspecting that you have Anti-phospholipid syndrome.
  • If you have prolonged Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time(aPTT)

What is this test

You should get this test done when you have signs and symptoms like pain, swelling, or discoloration of legs which might indicate an unexplained blood clot in a vein or artery; if you suffer from recurrent miscarriages; or if your partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) is prolonged. Your doctor may also order this test as a part of an evaluation of Antiphospholipid syndrome.
