Why it is Done
Anaemia is not just as simple as a lack of iron, there are many other things to consider. Anaemia can occur because of a lack of Vitamin B12, Folic acid and problems with red blood cells that carry Iron around the body. This test is a comprehensive analysis of those factors.
What is this test
Nutritional anaemia is caused by a lack of iron, protein, B12, and other vitamins and minerals that needed for the formation of hemoglobin. Folic acid deficiency is a common association of nutritional anemia and iron deficiency anemia is the most common nutritional disorder. The tests included are:
1) Vitamin B12
2) Ferritin
3) Folic Acid
4) TIBC
5) CBP
