What is this test
The Varicella zoster virus causes Chickenpox and hence, the test is used to evaluate the level of antibodies IgG produced by immune system to fight against the virus. As a result of reactivation of latent infection Herpes zoster is also caused. Nonimmune individuals can be identified by serologic screening for IgG antibodies to Varicella Zoster Virus.
