A cephalogram is an X-ray of the craniofacial area. It is frequently used by?dentists, orthodontists, and?oral and maxillofacial surgeons?as a treatment planning tool. Cephalometric?analysis depends on cephalometric?radiography?to study relationships between?bony?and?soft tissue?landmarks?. This can be used to diagnose facial growth abnormalities prior to treatment, in the middle of treatment to evaluate progress or at the conclusion of treatment to ascertain that the goals of treatment have been met.


Why is CEPHALOGRAM done ?

The lateral cephalogram is a profile x-ray of the skull and soft tissues and is used to assess the relation of the teeth in the jaws, the relation of the jaws to the skull and the relation of the soft tissues to the teeth and jaws. In children, growth predictions can be made and we can also determine the changes that have occurred with treatment. In adults, treatment can be predicted with varying degrees of accuracy and results quantified.

No prior preperation is required.Ask if the patient is pregnant.

SLAs:
For XRay test scheduled before 2 PM eConsultation will be scheduled before 9 PM same day and the physical reports to be delivered by 10 PM same day
For XRay test scheduled after 2 PM eConsultation to start from 8 AM next day and the physical reports to be delivered starting from 8 AM next day

FACILITATOR:
