Why is NT Scan done ?

A nuchal scan or nuchal translucency (NT) scan/procedure is a sonographic prenatal screening scan (ultrasound) to detect cardiovascular abnormalities in a foetus, though altered extracellular matrix composition and limited lymphatic drainage can also be detected.

Why is NT Scan ?

The amount of fluid is measured during a nuchal translucency (NT) ultrasound scan: between 11 weeks and 14 weeks of pregnancy or when your baby measures between 45mm (1.8in) and 84mm (3.3in).
