Treadmill Test(TMT)

The stress test is usually used to determine whether the patient is suffering from an ischemic heart condition and for determining a patient’s condition after he/she has suffered a heart attack. It is also used to check the efficiency of the medications for heart diseases like angina and ischemia and also to recognize the abnormal rhythm of the heart.

CCO:
No food intake for atleast 4hrs before the procedure. Avoid caffeine and alcohol for 12hours before the procedure. Medications like isosorbide dinitrate and nitroglycerine should be withheld on the day of procedure.

SLAs:
For Other Radiology test scheduled before 2 PM eConsultation will be scheduled before 9 PM same day and the physical reports to be delivered by 10 PM same day
For Other Radiology test scheduled after 2 PM eConsultation to start from 8 AM next day and the physical reports to be delivered starting from 8 AM next day

FACILITATOR:
Confirm the compliance of preparations required. Ask the patient to remove any jewellery and metals present on the body.

Typically a Cardiac Stress Test is what is used in cardiology to test the ability the heart to react to outside sources of stress in a controlled medical atmosphere. The reaction to stress is produced either by exercise or drug stimulation. The stress test compares the circulation of blood in the heart when the patient is resting and when he is under optimum physical pressure. There are various types of stress tests but the most common of them is the Treadmill Stress Test.
