Why is ULTRASOUND - ABDOMEN PELVIS AND TVS done ?

If your doctor suspects you have any one of these other conditions, an abdominal ultrasound may be conducted - blood clot, enlarged organ (such as the liver, spleen, or kidneys), fluid in the abdominal cavity, gallstone, hernia, pancreatitis, kidney blockage or cancer, kidney stone, liver cancer, appendicitis & tumors.

ULTRASOUND - ABDOMEN PELVIS AND TVS Instructions

CCO:
No food intake for atleast 8 hours before the Ultrasound scan is done.Ask the patient if any barium studies were done in the past 2days. Ask the patient to drink atleast 1-2 litres of water one hour before the test.Patient must have full bladder before the test is performed.Patient should not empty their bladder before the test is completed.

SLAs:
For Ultrasound test scheduled before 2 PM eConsultation will be scheduled before 9 PM same day and the physical reports to be delivered by 10 PM same day
For Ultrasound test scheduled after 2 PM eConsultation to start from 8 AM next day and the physical reports to be delivered starting from 8 AM next day

FACILITATOR:

Ultrasound Abdomen and Pelvis helps the radiologist in visualization of the abdominal and the pelvic organs like kidneys, liver, gall bladder, uterus, bladder, ovaries etc. While during a TVS scan, the probe is inserted through the vagina and the organs are visualized.
