Ultrasound imaging is a noninvasive medical test that produces pictures of the inside of the body using sound waves. It is a safe and painless procedure. An abdominal and pelvic ultrasound produces a picture of the organs and other structures in the upper abdomen and lower abdomen (pelvis)


Why is ULTRASOUND - KUB done ?

Ultrasound KUB (Kidney, Ureters, bladder) ia a lower abdominal ultrasound done to assess the kidneys, ureters and bladder along with prostate in males.

A KUB ultrasound can help determine changes in the size of the kidneys, signs of kidney damage, structural abnormalities, and presence of obstruction like kidney stones, ureter stones, tumors and cysts. In males it evaluates the prostate anomalies.

ULTRASOUND - KUB Instructions

No food intake for atleast 8 hours before the Ultrasound scan is done.Ask the patient if any barium studies were done in the past 2days. Ask the patient to drink atleast 1-2 litres of water one hour before the test.Patient must have full bladder before the test is performed.Patient should not empty their bladder before the test is completed.

SLAs:
For Ultrasound test scheduled before 2 PM eConsultation will be scheduled before 9 PM same day and the physical reports to be delivered by 10 PM same day
For Ultrasound test scheduled after 2 PM eConsultation to start from 8 AM next day and the physical reports to be delivered starting from 8 AM next day
