A TIFFA Scan (Targeted Imaging For Fetal Anomalies) Scan is popularly known as Fetal Anomaly Scan is usually advised by the Obstetricians during the second trimester. TIFFA scan uses ultrasound to screen for foetal abnormalities.


Why is ULTRASOUND - TIFFA SCAN done ?

TIFFA scan is one of the most important scans conducted during pregnancy. It is done to detect any congenital abnormalities in the growing fetus, monitor fetal movements, detect birth defects, check if the internal organs of the fetus are growing normally, amniotic fluid level, position of the placenta.

ULTRASOUND - TIFFA SCAN Instructions

CCO:
No food intake for atleast 8 hours before the Ultrasound scan is done.Ask the patient if any barium studies were done in the past 2days. Ask the patient to drink atleast 1-2 litres of water one hour before the test.Patient must have full bladder before the test is performed.Patient should not empty their bladder before the test is completed.

SLAs:
For Ultrasound test scheduled before 2 PM eConsultation will be scheduled before 9 PM same day and the physical reports to be delivered by 10 PM same day
For Ultrasound test scheduled after 2 PM eConsultation to start from 8 AM next day and the physical reports to be delivered starting from 8 AM next day
