There is no known danger to the use of ultrasound Are there any dyes in ultrasound, as in X-rays? As of now there are no "dyes" injected in routine ultrasound practice. Contrast media however are being evaluated for use in clinical trials. Who is qualified to do ultrasound? Only radiologists trained in ultrasound should perform these investigations. In many situations, however, gynecologists also perform ultrasound examinations on their own patients; if adequately trained/certified, this is acceptable.

Why is ULTRASOUND - TVS ?

Ultrasound TVS is a test used to look at a woman's reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries, and cervix. During this procedure, the probe is inserted through the vagina and the organs are visualised. A TVS scan is also done during early pregnancy to visualise the fetus.. This includes the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix and vagina. Transvaginal means through the vagina. This is an internal examination. Unlike a regular abdominal or pelvic ultrasound, where the ultrasound wand, or transducer, rests on the outside of the pelvis, this procedure involves your doctor or a technician inserting an ultrasound probe about two or three inches into your vaginal canal.
